How it works
How the Navy PRT is scored
Each of the three events earns a point value from a performance category (Outstanding, Excellent, Good or Satisfactory) set by your age and gender. The three scores average into your overall PRT score, which maps to an overall category.
You need to reach at least Satisfactory in every event and overall, so a single weak event can fail an otherwise strong test. That is why the calculator flags any event that falls under the line.
Questions
Navy PRT questions
How is the Navy PRT scored?
Each event (push-ups, the forearm plank and the 1.5-mile run) earns a point value from a performance category: Outstanding, Excellent, Good or Satisfactory. The three average into your overall PRT score and category.
What is a passing PRT score?
You must reach at least the Satisfactory level in every event and overall. Falling below Satisfactory on any single event is a failure, so this calculator flags any event under the line.
Did curl-ups get replaced?
Yes. The forearm plank replaced curl-ups (sit-ups) as the core event, and it is scored on how long you hold it.
What are the Navy PRT events?
Push-ups in two minutes, the forearm plank, and the 1.5-mile run. Approved cardio alternates like the swim or row exist but this calculator uses the run.
Do you save my results?
