How the USMC PFT is scored
Each of the three events is scored on its own 0 to 100 scale between a minimum passing performance and a maximum, then added into a total out of 300. You need the minimum in every event, so a single weak event can fail an otherwise strong test.
The reps and times required move with age and gender, which is why the calculator asks for both. Choosing push-ups instead of pull-ups caps that event, so pull-ups are the only way to a perfect score.
Totals sort into classes (1st Class, 2nd Class and 3rd Class), with a floor below which the test is a fail.
